WIP - Malifaux

I tweaked the base coat of some select cobblestones, to homogenize them a little bit, before applying the wash.  I feel better about the basic look.  However, the wash looks too much like a signature Games Workshop wash.  Which it is.  I rarely use GW washes, but I figure I'd try it out, since I'm in experimental mode.  I don't like how GW washes pool.  I have some new AK enamel washes that I tried out on some terrain, and it looks promising.  The enamels take longer to dry, but it might be worth it.  They dry very matte, surprisingly.  I'll also mix up the wash colors some more, and I'll throw in some pigments.  Some drybrushing will further unify the color and pick out some edges.

I'm torn on the Steampunk Arachnids.  I'm experimenting with the older color scheme here.  I like the idea of the things being made out of copper and brass -- very steampunk, clockwork, and microbrewery.  On the other hand, I like the newer, clean, mechanical style of the steel Arachnids that the studio picture shows.  I especially like the idea of the different colored eyes, which works better with a uniform steel background, rather than a hodge-podge of browns and yellows.  What do you think?
