I've been working on MegaNobz, Killa Kanz, and a Deff Dread. The work has been very sporadic, as I've been searching through the backlog to find all these models, and I've been caught up at work, too. I wanted to have a decent story to tell, before I posted. So here's a walkthrough to the first interesting pause-point.
Burnt Umber over black primer. |
Sponged with 3 shades of orange. |
Gloss varnish, matte varnish, hairspray. |
And finally some color. |
On the mega nob Mike, you didn't tape the skin? I'm amazed by this. I must of spent hours taping my mega nobz...
ReplyDeleteNaw, man. At this stage, everything is just base-coats and undercoats. I'll be painting over any oversprays anyway, in either direction.
DeleteAnd this is why I find watching artists work so fascinating and educational. The stuff you waste time on not knowing a better way of doing it!
DeleteI tend to do all my ork skin with pre shading then washes/glazes, so I have to protect that initial layer. Though in hindsight, I could have painted on the shading after the metals, then done the washes/glazes..
Awesome start man! Hopefully I'll be able to check out some progress tonight.
